Dr. Kausche advises Bessemer Investors on investments in the animal health sector. Dr. Kausche advised Bessemer Investors on its partnership with Pet Flavors and serves as a member of its board of directors.

Additionally, Dr. Kausche is a member of the board of Sequent Scientific/Alivira a global India-based company developing and marketing high quality generics. He is Chairman of the Board of PetMedix, a start-up company in Cambridge, UK developing monoclonal antibodies for companion animals. He also works as scientific advisor for Rejuvenate Bio a California-based startup that develops modern gene therapies for companion animals and is a member of the board of trustees of GALVmed a UK-based charity developing medicines for small holder farmers in sub-Saharan Africa and Asia.

Dr. Kausche has several decades of senior executive experience in the animal and human health industries in both biological and pharmaceutical research and development.

He held subsequent positions as Global Head of Research & Development for three of the top eight global Animal Health companies: Novartis Animal Health, Merial, and Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health. Before leaving Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health in December 2018, he led the post-merger integration of the largest R&D organization in the Animal Health industry with more than 1,200 scientist and support staff. In addition to his extensive Animal Health R&D experience, he gained additional expertise in the human health space as head of R&D for Novartis Consumer Health. Prior to that, he also successfully led a companion animal sales force for Novartis Animal Health.

A native of Germany, Dr. Kausche received a veterinary degree from the Hannover Veterinary School. He subsequently completed a Master of Science degree at Iowa State University. Following the completion of the M.S. degree, Dr. Kausche returned to Europe and took part in a research program that led him to receiving the German PhD (Dr.med.vet.) in a combination program between the Hannover Medical and Veterinary Schools. Having completed the Advanced Management Program in 2005, he is also an alumnus of Harvard Business School

Tom served as Chief Operating Officer at Flowserve Corporation a multinational products and service organization for pumps, valves, seals, and aftermarket services from Jan 2012 to May 2017. Prior to that Tom was President of Flowserve’s Flow Control Division from 2004 to 2012 responsible for worldwide valve products, automation, and valve aftermarket services. He also served on the Valve Manufacturers Board of Directors for a period of time. Prior to his time in  Flow Control, Tom spent almost 27 years in large power projects with ABB and Alstom in various capacities overtime including Managing Director of the US rail unit of Alstom, Senior Vice President of the worldwide Power Boiler Business of Alstom from 1999 to 2003, Senior Vice President and General Manager ABB International Boiler Operations, and Senior Vice President and General Manager Standard Boilers for ABB. Since 2013 Tom has served on the Board of Directors at Meritor, Inc. where he currently is Chair of the Governance and Nominating Comm. and a member of the Audit Comm. Tom has over 40 years of global operational and business leadership experience working for multinational firms in industrial products and aftermarket services, and large project execution businesses. He has extensive international experience in managing multinational businesses and has served on various joint venture internal international Company  Boards.

He received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1977 and his Masters in Business Administration from Renesselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1982. He also attended the Global Business Consortium program in 1998 associated with the London Business School.

Dan is the founder and Managing Partner of Elevant Advisors, a boutique firm providing capital, strategic, operating, and CEO services to private equity funds and large family offices.   

Prior to founding Elevant Advisors, Dan was the co-founder, COO and Board Member of Biofuel Energy Corporation (NASDAQ-BIOF), where he grew the company from inception to over $650 million per year in revenue. Dan started his career with NCH Corporation and TIC/Kiewit where he developed, financed, and/or operated over $5 billion in energy, industrial, and infrastructure assets starting as an energy and water engineer and becoming the President of Renewable Energy Development Corporation.

Len currently serves on the Board of Directors at Greenlight Re (NASDAQ: GLRE) and brings over 30 years of insurance and reinsurance experience. He previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Greenlight Re from August 2005 through August 2011. Prior to this, he worked with the Alea Group, a reinsurance company, from August 2000 to August 2004, including serving as Chief Executive Officer of Alea North America Insurance Company and Alea North America Specialty Insurance Company from March 2002 to August 2004. Prior to working with the Alea Group, Len served as Chief Actuary and Senior Vice President – Financial Products of Custom Risk Solutions, a managing general agency company, from April 1999 to August 2000. From May 1995 to December 1998, Len provided various actuarial services to Zurich Group, a reinsurance company, including acting as Chief Actuary of Zurich Re London.

Len advises Bessemer Investors on investments in the insurance services sector, including BI’s investment in Distinguished Programs.

Len received his B.A. in Mathematics from Rutgers University in 1984 and Masters in Business Administration, Finance Concentration, from Rutgers Executive MBA program in 1993. He is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Glenn was President and Chief Operating Officer of Airgas, Inc. from 2000 to 2005. Prior to joining Airgas, Glenn spent 19 years with The BOC Group (Linde Industrial Gases) in a wide range of general management positions leading up to his appointment as President of BOC Gases, North America. He also served on the Board and Executive Committee of the Compressed Gas Association (CGA) for several years, and was Chairman of the Association in 2004.

Following his tenure with Airgas, Glenn has served as an Operating Partner and advisor to multiple private equity investment firms.  In these roles, Glenn has focused on evaluating new investments and working with portfolio companies to create value through strategic growth initiatives and operating efficiencies.  Glenn advised Bessemer Investors on its investment in North American Helium.

Glenn received an M.B.A. in Finance and a B.S. in Business from Long Island University.
